Subject: Superior Spring Trail Race Volunteer Communication 2 2017
You are receiving this email because you have signed up to volunteer for the 2017 Superior Spring Trail Race on Saturday May 20th, 2017 – we cannot thank you enough for all of your help! We are just over three weeks out from this years race!
We are still waiting to hear back from just a couple more volunteers, once we have those names and make a few final adjustments to assignments we will send out one more email with any final details and updates.
Preliminary volunteer assignments have been made and are available HERE https://www.superiorspringtrailrace.com/volunteer-assignments/ – while I try to go off any notes or discussion we have had previously, sometimes I make mistakes so please let me know if something does not work for you! You can search the list by volunteer position or by last name – be sure to do both as many of you are assigned to more than one position.
Most of the volunteer assignments are pretty straight forward but you can find job descriptions and directions on how to get to where you need to be HERE https://www.superiorspringtrailrace.com/volunteer-jobs/ along with what equipment and food your aid station will be provided with and even how to work an aid station if you have never done it under the “Volunteer” tab on our website – also be sure to study up on the information on our website, especially the “Race Info” section (print what you think you might need) – so you have the best sense of what is going on at the race and can be a good resource for runners, spectators and other volunteers.
* If anyone that is working at an aid station or road crossing / traffic control wants to come to the finish after their shift and lend a hand there with the final cleanup etc. (from about 3:00 PM until we are cleaned up) we would certainly appreciate it – if you can / want to, please shoot me an email so I can add you in there as well!
* If anyone that is signed up for an aid station or the finish line happens to be a good photographer or Social Media guru, please let me know!
* If anyone has a burning desire to help us unpack and unload on Monday at our home in Hastings, shoot us a note as well!
If you are volunteering and need a place to stay you are welcome to stay with us at one of the townhomes at Caribou Highlands (race start / finish area location). These are communal accommodations and sometimes we have to cram a decent number of people in so please be sure to bring a sleeping bag, sleeping pad and pillow in case all the beds are taken. There are a couple of bathrooms with showers per unit just be sure to bring a towel. There is a full kitchen so you can cook etc. – please label any food your brought with your name or “communal” should you like to share. Please be sure to do all your own dishes and clean up after yourself!
